Bursting onto the stage with an equal measure of sexiness, sass and craziness is the cult classic that is Richard O’ Brien’s Rocky horror show. We were happy to spend a dreary Monday night with the cast of the world tour of the show, and we were definitely left with a spring in our step as we went home! It’s been a few years since I last saw the show but the stellar performances really made the show go down an absolute storm with it’s enthusiastic audience (complete with several theatre goers full narration throughout! Brilliant!)

We really enjoyed the exciting atmosphere throughout the show before and after included. It’s clear there is no sign of it diminishing in popularity with it’s loyal followers. The theatre was packed, and with so many in-jokes and hilarity it really added a new dimension to the show. There was audience participation and dancing and everyone was joining in the fun!
I can’t fault the cast at all and individually the characters were so engaging and into their performances it felt fresh and vibrant. In particular those who shone brightest were Suzie McAdam as the usherette and the vivacious Magenta (she was fierce!) Haley Flaherty as the charismatic and innocent Janet (her vocals were otherworldly) Reece Budin as the lovable Brad and Philip Franks as the beautifully well spoken and quite frankly hilarious narrator. Not forgetting the stunning performance of Stephen Webb as the perfect Frank N Furter and Kristian Lavercombe and Lauren Ingram rocked the parts of Columbia and Riff Raff. Joe Allan was the perfect choice for Eddie/ Dr Scott and delivered every line with such joy and humour. In particular the solo scene of Columbia was a brilliant sketch delivered spectacularly and she had the audience in the palm of her hand.
The show runs from 3rd-8th January and tickets (although they’re selling fast) are available through their website:

Our verdict:
” A sensational fizz of sassy characters and madness, this energetic and hilarious performance will both thrill you and absorb you into it’s world. You’ll be doing the time warp as if your life depended on it!”
Squeeze yourself into that corset, pop on your heels and catch it immediately!
I’m Cassie, a mum of 3, (most of the time I haven’t had chance to straighten my hair or drink a hot cup of tea) trying to juggle life as we all are and failing some of the time, but try and see my glass as half full!
