Based on Stephen King’s 1982 novella, this thrilling stage
production examines friendship and hope behind the
claustrophobic bars of a maximum-security facility. The 1994
feature film was nominated for seven Academy Awards.
The show was just superb, indeed one of the best I’ve ever seen of
recent years. The quality of acting was up there and the way you
felt immersed in the prisoners world was just so cleverly done.
Stand out performances from Joe McFadden, Bill Ward and Ben
Onwukwe just elevated the believability and made for a most
entertaining and emotive show.
Any fans of the original film will not be disappointed and even
those being introduced for the first time cannot fail to be drawn in
to this phenomenal production.
