Spring gift guide 2023!

Easter treats from Mrs Palmer’s: the perfect sweet sensation!

Spring has sprung officially (despite craving a little more sunshine than cold spells!) and I have rounded up some amazing businesses who I want to shout out! I started April with a wonderful visit to a local cake parlour called Mrs Palmer’s Pantry. Located in our local town market square this decadent eatery serves homemade cakes, scones, and treats for all tastes. We loved having a cake and a cuppa all served with a smile from the talented Laurie (THE best baker in the town!)such a great setting and the perfect activity to do with a friend anytime. You can find out more and where to book here:

Another lovely item I have been sent is this very Spring coloured waffle weave dressing gown from Weave essentials. It’s cosy but light for the Spring months and I adore the colour too!

I have enjoyed an amazing graze board from @themoveablefeastuk a local company who specialise in these unreal platters, the perfect treat for our podcast @readingbetweenthewines2023. Packed with homemade breads, cheeses to pair perfectly with your favourite tipple, jams, chutneys and meats this platter is great for any occasion and I can’t wait to order more. Delicious! It didn’t hang around for long with our podcast ladies that’s for sure!

More sweet treats now in the most gorgeous Spring colour palette! Pastel macrons of dreams right here! And the taste was spectacular too, so dreamy! Not to mention the gold leaf detail these would be so wonderful for a baby shower or bridal shower and they did not disappoint that’s for sure. I have had macrons in the past that weren’t very nicely textured but these were so creamy and melt in your mouth and delicately flavoured but oh so sumptuous!

More sweet sensations this time from the wonderful Reevey Lou’s fudge kitchen such amazing fudge handmade and packaged beautifully we adored it and the kids couldn’t get enough!

They cater for all tastes with all sorts of flavour combinations so do check them out!

Fearne and Rosie sent me some wonderful jams that are healthier than many alternatives and great for children. We often have jam on toast for breakfast so these will no doubt be gone soon! With more fruit and less sugar they’re the best choice for the breakfast table and with super strawberry, blackcurrant, cherry and more flavours everyone was kept happy.

@petitbiscuit.bychloe sent us a gorgeous giftbox of Easter biscuits which were the cutest and tasted amazing too. With gorgeous icing and the softest sweetest butteriest biscuit base these would be the perfect wedding or baby shower favour or simply perfect for a gift for someone special. The label on the box was a wild flower card you can plant after use how gorgeous!

Down on the Farm at East Houghton!

We loved our gifted trip to visit a wonderful well thought out children’s petting farm in Durham. With chick holding, lamb feeding and guinea pig brushing sessions throughout the day as well as barrel and tractor rides this farm was great fun for all ages. The staff were amazing with the children and it was educational as well as being the perfect activity for Easter/Springtime. From our niece who is 4 to our middle child who is 12 there was something to keep them happy and a tea room for the parents to keep us caffeinated! Coco loved the guinea pig brushing the best and the bouncy pillows (you’ll have to visit to see what they are!)

Anyone else love a good pair of socks (the funkier the better right?!) The Sock Butler has you covered with the most luxurious socks ever, if you know you know! I want to be sent a new pair each week please! They’re soft and snuggly and there are some lush styles to pick from i’m in love!!!!

@thesockbutler

One brilliant new gift company has caught my attention this month. Simon researches your house and it’s history and prints out a blue circle you can display however you want. It can be on vinyl and made as a sticker or a plaque and they are stunning. I love the way it can be a surprise for someone and be such an interesting historical keepsake. They really are going to go places i’m sure, my gran was presented with this and she adored it!

@here.beforeus

Go and give them lots of support!

It’s been fantastic to work with some super businesses and supporting small where I can. Always happy to work with you and feel lucky I get to. The world is a little crazy right now and supporting small is where it’s at. Thanks to all the places who responded and were part of the guide, I’ve loved working with you!
