Our guest reviewers had a wonderful time at the Across the Universe show: A celebration of the Beatles.
This live stage show celebrating The Beatles’ groundbreaking “Studio years” (1966-1970) features a powerhouse live band, strings and brass designed to replicate complex studio arrangements. The production focuses entirely on musical authenticity with no wigs or costumes.

Some feedback we tend to come across in these music tribute style shows are the ways that some acts attempt to mimic and imitate with outfis and styling when actually a lot of the time audiences want to hear the genuine sounds of their musical heroes rather than the budget going on style etc. The face that this production was bringing that authentic sound was an absolute triumph and one the audience clearly appreciated at the performance.

In my opinion this is definitely no stereotypical tribute show and it elevates the genre, bringing all observers that authentic Beatles experience.

Our reviewer had an amazing evening and said:
“It was a spectacular show and so nice to see a band covering the group without feeling the need to dress up as them. They played some unusual choices (fantastic news!) as well as more famous ones- Martha My Dear and Golden Slumbers were stunning. The Beatles’ actual songs had become so sophisticated that back in the day they didn’t have the technology to play them on an actual stage so last night we were able to hear accurate versions of Strawberry Fields and A day in the life (My Grandson’s favourite number!) and this felt truly special. The Brass section was uplifting and joyful. The whole cast got a standing ovation which was so well deserved, a thoroughly entertaining night out at the theatre, a must for Beatles fans everywhere! “
