Cosying up in Autumn

So its been a funny old year so far and it doesn’t show signs of changing yet. Have already had to say to kids about trick or treating ban this year and it didn’t go well. Instead we are opting for Halloween tea party and decorating the house instead. Maybe we will still walk round the neighbourhood and check out everyone’s decorations for fun too. Being a parent is so hard at the moment for so many reasons but i’m determined we can still have a great time despite restrictions everywhere. One thing I would love to concentrate on is getting the house ready for Autumn and Winter season. I’m looking at getting a new carpet for front room (previously considered wooden flooring too) and having a little bit of a mini makeover. We don’t have a lot of budget for extra things so I tend to get bargains on Facebook marketplace and charity shops where I can, I always think a fresh lick of paint works miracles and i’m even thinking of repapering as am sick of grey everywhere, who else is pining for a bit of colour in the house at the moment?

Just had a gorgeous visit to Spilman’s farm, Thirsk which is a gorgeous place to celebrate Halloween in the great outdoors. There are fairground rides, wood fired pizzas, pumpkin carving activities and the staff are brilliant all dressed in character and their enthusiasm was great! The kids loved the maze and giant haybales to climb as well as finding their perfect pumpkins amongst the kazillion freshly growing as far as the eye could see. They absolutely loved it! It was great to see lots of covid safe practices going on and loads of handwashing facilities making the day a success and worry free for us. Feel all Autumny now and the sunflower field was an insta dream location!

Looking forward to this month we have tickets to see a film at our local theatre The Hippodrome. Yes, a film at the theatre as oppose to the shows we’ve seen last year. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is showing and we are excited to be able to go back in safely and support our lovely theatre buds.
